Barbara Walsh received a Tony Award nomination, a Drama Desk Award nomination, and the Los Angeles Ovation Award for her performance as Trina in William Finn and James Lapine’s Tony Award-winning musical Falsettos.  Prior to the Broadway run, Ms. Walsh originated the role under Graciela Daniele’s direction at Hartford Stage.  Other Broadway credits include originating the roles of Mrs. Baskin in Big, Mrs. Lyons in Blood Brothers, Joan Baez in Rock ‘n Roll: the first 5,000 years, and Nine.  In 1999, Ms. Walsh played Mother in the Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime (Chicago company).  Off-Broadway credits include: Stars In Your Eyes, Birds Of Paradise (directed by Arthur Laurents), and critical acclaim for her zany impersonations in Forbidden Broadway

National tours include: Falsettos, Oklahoma!, Nine, Les Miserables, and Chess for which she received a Carbonell Award for her performance as Svetlana.  Regionally, Ms. Walsh’s credits include: Kate in Dinner With Friends at The Old Globe Theatre (directed by Leonard Foglia), Pfeni in The Sisters Rosensweig at George Street Playhouse (directed by David Saint), Tomfoolery at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Rosabella in The Most Happy Fella at Great Lakes Theatre Festival, and originating two roles at The Goodspeed Opera House: Bess in Houdini (directed by Gabriel Barre) and Arelene in Cy Coleman’s Exactly Like You (directed by Patricia Birch).  Her favorite role to date is Blanche Dubois in A Streetcar Named Desire for Pennsylvania’s Gretna Theatre, directed by her husband, Jack Cummings III. 

Workshop highlights include The Senator’s Wife in Michael John LaChiusa’s Hello Again for Lincoln Center Theatre (directed by Graciela Daniele), Em in Barry Kleinbort and Joseph Thalken’s WAS also at Lincoln Center (directed by Tina Landau), Eleanor Roosevelt in Gretchen Cryer and Nancy Ford’s Fabulous Party (also directed by Graciela Daniele), and Jo in The Ballad of Little Jo for The Directors Company. 

Film and television credits include: Life With Mikey, Law & Order, All My Children, and As The World Turns.  Ms. Walsh can be heard on the following CDs: Big, Brimstone, A… My Name Will Always Be Alice, The Best Of Forbidden Broadway, and Incurably Romantic – The Songs Of Martin Charnin.
