Miss Piro gained critical acclaim for her recent portrayal of Lizzy Curry in the revival of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt's 110 in the Shade at Eric Shaeffer's Signature Theatre in Washington, DC

As Lizzie Curry, the woman on the cusp of eternal spinsterhood, Jacquelyn Piro sets the standard with a performance undiluted by vanity or pleas for sympathy.  Drolly sending up the man trapping coquette she refuses to be or extolling the pleasures of domesticity, her voice slides between a self protective nasal harshness and a wistful soprano.  She turns her climactic solo of Act I, Old Maid into a harrowingly raw nervous breakdown of a number that for one disorienting moment places Harvey Schmidt closer to Alan Berg than ever before thought possible.           Ben Brantley, The New York Times

On Broadway, she holds the distinction of portraying both the young innocent Cosette and the tragic heroine Fantine, in the mega-hit Les Miserables, the only actor in Broadway history to do so.  She originate the role of Cosette in the Third National and San Francisco Companies, later reprised the role for her Broadway debut, and in 1996, and most recently 2002, returned to Broadway as Fantine.

I love the fact that the current Fantine, Jacqueline Piro, sings I Dreamed A Dream straight, without the irritating rock mannerisms her early predecessors used .. [she] is a poignant Fantine.       Howard Kissel, Daily News

Jacquelyn Piro is a charming Cosette on all counts.     Variety

No stranger to Schonberg and Boublil, Miss Piro delighted audiences on Broadway and across North American with her "standout performance" as Ellen in Miss Saigon.

The role of Chris' American Wife is powerfully interpreted and beautifully sung by Jacquelyn Piro, who tortured solo, Now That I've Seen Her, expresses volumes of painful concern.     Tom Titus, Daily Pilot, LA

Miss Piro is also well known to theatre audiences across the country having starred as Betty Schaefer in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, Lily in the Tony Award winning The Secret Garden, both directed by Susan H. Schulman; and as Susan Lawrence in Malby/Shire's big, directed by Eric Schaeffer.

Jacquelyn Piro is a refreshment as ingénue Betty Schaefer.  Her solo Too Much in Love to Care is one of the evening's few memorable musical moments.   Byron Woods, The News & Observer, Raleigh ... Sunset Boulevard.

The most appealing ghost of all is the lovely Lily, played by Jacquelyn Piro, an actress with a warm presence and a clear, bell-like soaring voice so enticing she makes us all want to Come to My Garden.  Sandra Dillard-Rosen, The Denver Post ... The Secret Garden

Jacquelyn Piro's voice will melt your heart.  Her instrument is wonderfully capable.  Piro owns the classic Broadway balladeer's tune, resonant yet tender, with perfect control and just the right emotionalism in the delivery.   Paul Hodgins, The Orange County Register, LA  ... big

Off Broadway she created the role of Alison in the New York Theatre's production of Suburb and was Nellie in Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein's Sweet Adeline at the nationally celebrated City Center Encores! concert series.  Prior to that, her solo cabaret show  Dreaming with Jacquelyn Piro, debuted at the Triad in New York City.

... particularly fine was the enchanting Jacquelyn Piro, with her piquant delivery.     John Simon, New York Magazine

She as performed at regional theatres throughout the country including the title roles in Evita and Gypsy, Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, Eve Harrington in All About Eve (co-starring with Gena Rowlands), Maria in The Sound of Music and Grace Farrell in Annie.  Television credits include Another World, Broadway on Broadway, CBS's The Early Show and the final broadcast of  The Rosie O'Donnell Show

And then there is Louise's stunning transformation, from tomboy to stripteaser.  In both guises, Jacquelyn Piro is radiant.     Alvin Klein, The New York Times ... Gypsy

Piro shines as Eva throughout, but never more so than in the hit song Don't Cry For Me Argentina, which she delivers with intimacy and passion.  Her transformation in two hours from ambitious teenager to superstar to dying woman is incredible.   Diane Lewis, The Wichita Eagle ... Evita

Jacquelyn Piro is a lovely Sarah, both visually and vocally, with a sweet, clear, ringing soprano.  When Sarah's crisp propriety gives way and she drops her inhibitions, Piro cuts a wider and wilder swath than any Sarah I've yet seen-she's great fun.   Everett Evans, Houston Chronicle ... Guys and Dolls

In Concert, Miss Piro most recently sang with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.  She toured throughout Europe in a concert of Broadway repertoire and on separate occasions, had the honor of singing for President Bush and President Reagan.  Her "rafter-reaching vocal chords" were heard singing the National Anthem for the Orlando Magic and the Rochester Americans.

Dear Jacquelyn,  --   We loved last night's performance.  You were sensational - great voice and beautiful too!  Thanx for a grand evening!  --- President George Bush

She can be heard on many recordings including big (MTI), Little By Little The Music of Brad Ross (Original Cast Records), and the 1996 Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS CD, Remember, a Les Miserables Broadway Company benefit recording.
