

Jim Walton was
raised in Marion, Indiana (no, not Gary), attended college at the university of
Cincinnati's Conservatory of Music and now lives in New York City. He
starred on Broadway as Bobby Child in Gershwin's,
Crazy For You
which also aired on
PBS' Great Performances series, and was happy to star in productions in Toronto,
Sydney and many U.S. Cities. His Broadway credits include covering the
roles of Harold Hill, Marcellus Washburn and Charlie Cowell in
The Music Man
(2000 revival), starring Rebecca Luker, as Anthony Hope in
Sweeney Todd
(1989 revival),
Stardust,
and as Billy Lawlor in
42nd Street,
a show which he also toured across the United States. He starred as
Franklin Shepherd in the original Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim's
Merrily We Roll
Along (
recording on RCA Records) and he made his Broadway debut in a Frank Loesser
revue, Perfectly Frank.
Off Broadway, he
appeared in
Closer Than Ever,
Scrambled Feet
and in And The World Goes 'Round,
the songs of Kander and Ebb (recording on RCA Records), for which we shared an
Outer Circle Drama Critic's award for Best Ensemble Performance. He also
appeared as Young Buddy in
Follies: In Concert with the New York Philharmonic
at Avery
Fisher Hall (recording on RCA Records), also broadcast on PBS' Great
Performances .
Jim has co-written
two musicals with his brother, Bob Walton:
My Brother's Keeper,
winning a Backstage Bistro Award for Best New Musical, and
Double Trouble,
A Musical Tour de Farce
which had productions in Chester, Connecticut and Wichita, Kansas.
