William Michals  made his Broadway debut as "The Beast" in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, playing across from Deborah Gibson, Toni Braxton, and Andrea McArdle - then returned to play the boastful Gaston! He has starred in Les Misérables (Javert), Phantom (The Phantom), The Music Man (Harold Hill), Man of La Mancha (Don Quixote), CHICAGO (Billy Flynn), The Sound of Music (Captain von Trapp), and Camelot (Lancelot), as well as numerous operatic roles, including Escamillo in Carmen, Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro, and Papageno in Die Zauberflöte. 

Mr. Michals regularly appears with the country’s leading orchestras, recently celebrating the Richard Rodgers centennial with the San Diego, Utah, and Hartford Symphonies. A recipient of the prestigious 2002 Anselmo Award, he also earned recognition from Chicago’s "Jeff" and the National "STAR" Awards for his performance as Chauvelin in
The Scarlet Pimpernel. TV: "Law and Order", "All My Children", "Guiding Light". Mr. Michals has sung national anthem for numerous major league sporting events, and performed for the joint leadership of the House and Senate at the Capitol. His voice was broadcast around the world when he was invited by Mayor Rudy Giuliani to sing "Let There Be Peace On Earth" early in the morning of December 11, 2001, at Ground Zero, NYC.

Mr. Michals has a BA from Boston University.
